State Police began the investigation of a robbery at the Bank of Millbrook’s Stanfordville Branch, located at 11 Hunns Lake Road, in the Town of Stanford on Aug. 7, 2017 at approximately 1:13 p.m.

A male subject entered the bank, displayed what appeared to be a handgun, and stole over $12,000 in cash, police said. The suspect then fled the bank on foot, and reportedly got into a light-colored minivan parked down the road.

A nine-month investigation by the Troop K Bureau of Investigation eventually led to the identification a suspect, and later to his arrest.

Terry Thompson of Poughkeepsie was charged with robbery, a Class C felony.

“Despite the lack of any strong leads early on, a tip received a few months later helped Investigator Michael Ramirez to develop Thompson as a possible suspect," Captain John Ryan said.

Thompson was arraigned before the town of Pleasant Valley Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond to appear before the Stanford Court on Friday, May 11.
